Youth Programmes
The Rotary Club of Auckland East is part of the global organisation Rotary International. Rotary runs a number of programmes which help to build self esteem and leadership skills amongst young people. The ultimate goal is to equip youth with life skills that will enable them to contribute positively to New Zealand’s future.
Rotary received a $45,000 donation from PICT in 2008, which was divided between four programmes: Life Education Trust for Children, Rotary Youth Programme for Enrichment, HIPPY (Home Interaction Programme for Parents and Youngsters) and the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.
In 2009, Rotary International will continue to direct donations from PICT towards these successful programmes.
